The first step (Cooking RPG App)

 Arguments for Lepper's Model: - Our app encourages self learning (aka control) - We will recommend more "difficult dishes" after the user gets more experienced (aka challenge) Arguments for ARCS Model: - Since our app has traits of an rpg and has variability, it will keep people interested (aka attention) - The app is supposed to help students make their own food, provide tips and tricks to help them further understand the relation between food and health (aka relevance) - "Main quests" and "side quests" it provides an estimated time. The rewards for achieving these side quests and main quests will increase your virtual score(xp) (aka confidence) - The food is relevant to the learner in question, because they will learn how to live a healthier and applies this knowledge to cook in real life. The leveling system maintains a sense of equity with the learners. (aka satisfaction)

  Blogpost Table   Before we can make a CLD we have to have a table, so I sat down and did just that. First, I made the table for the gamification CLD. The game is inspired by rpg-games so we had to have a leveling system The players “Level” is therefor the first item. But now we need a way to gain levels. We get levels when we “Complete tasks” and earn exp (experience points), this is an action. When we level up, we unlock more difficult tasks. “Task Difficulty” is a control because it will control how likely the player is to complete a task. Our ide was to have a daily task and maybe some smaller tasks every day so we have to store our tasks in the item “Available Tasks” and to replenish the tasks we have the action “Give new task”; I then made the table for the learning CLD. The table this tame is the same but with a 3 rd item. “Cooking skills and knowledge” is a measure of the skills and knowledge acquired through completing cooking tasks in our app. The las...
