Flow chart (Gudbrand 01)
Blogpost flow chart
The purpose of the Flowchart is to get an idea of what adds to an item and what takes from an item. I made a flow for each item.
“Available Tasks” receives new tasks every day. The action “Give new task” adds tasks to the item. The action “Complete task” takes away a task from the item.
“Level” is a measure of the user’s level in the app. When the user “Complete task”s he gain exp(experience points) and once he gets enough his level will increase. The “Level” can not drop.
“Cooking skills and knowledge” is an item representing skills and knowledge related to cooking. This will increase as you “Complete task”s. We call it learning by doing. After completing a task “Constructive feedback” may be given and this is also good learning material.
“Intrinsic Motivation” is a measure of the form of motivation that comes from the inside. The “Physical result” after completing a task will have a great effect on this motivation. Another factor is The “Feeling of accomplishment” when you have done something. A “Positive Rating” and to meet the threshold and “Level up” will both increase the “Feeling of accomplishment.” “Negative feedback” may discourage the user.
“Extrinsic Motivation” is a measure of the form of motivation that comes from outside, like when you do something to get some reward. This Item is effected by the “Reward Effect” after a successful task and the thought of the next “Level up”.
